Johnston City- Kathy Lynn Howell, age 64, of Johnston City, passed away at 1:20 pm on Friday, July 31, 2015 at her home in Johnston City.
Kathy was born in DuQuoin on January 5, 1951, the daughter of James and Peggy (Branum) Mattingly. She married Bobby Howell in Williamson County on July 2, 1975. He survives in Johnston City.
Mrs. Howell had worked as a dietary aide at nursing homes, however, her true passion was in being a mother and wife. She loved her family and will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Daughter- Angela Robison of Herrin
Son- Carl and Lori Howell of Marion
Daughter- Rachel Howell of Carbondale
Grandchildren- Landon Howell of Marion
Lewis and Brandon Anthony of Herrin
Sister- Rebecca and Michael Foster of Herrin
Brother- Steven Mattingly of Dexter, MO
She was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew- Doug Mattingly.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Bruce Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Tuesday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
