David Ray Greathouse, 80, passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.
David was born on August 8, 1941 in Herrin to Edward Dale and Lela Esther (Whitecotton) Greathouse. He married Donna Lee Piquard on June 2, 1960 in Hurst. She preceded him in death on November 13, 2002.
David served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was known for his strong biblical faith in God. David had a heart that sought the ways of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Gary Greathouse.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 4pm at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Gibbs officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 2pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
Due to health concerns related to the COVID-19 virus, and the executive order by the Governor of Illinois, those attending the visitation and the funeral service are asked to follow social distancing guidelines and wear a face mask.
