Energy- Donna Lee Beltz, age 84, of Energy, was surrounded by family as she passed away at 10:15pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at Herrin Hospital. She succumbed to the complications associated with many medical procedures.
Donna was born in Herrin on August 4, 1934, the daughter of Homer and Ximena (Kenner) Brown. She married Ronald Beltz at the Energy First Baptist Church on May 23, 1953. Together, they shared more than sixty-five years of marriage, wonderful memories and blessings.
Donna served the Energy community as Post Master for over 20 years greeting her customers with her infectious smile. She was a member of Grange Hall Baptist Church in Marion. She loved spending time and laughing with her family. She was an avid supporter of her grandchildren’s sporting activities, Saluki basketball, and loved watching her husband show Racking and Tennessee Walking horses.
She is survived by her husband Ronald Beltz of Energy

Daughter Ronda DeMattei and son-in- law Mike DeMattei of Marion
Grandchildren- Dr. Ryan Beltz and wife Danielle of Columbus Ohio

Brody DeMattei of Collinsville
Great granddaughter- Rowan Beltz of Columbus, Ohio
She was preceded in death by her parents of Herrin, and brother-Carl C. Brown of Hayward CA.
Funeral services to celebrate Donna’s life will be held at 11am on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Kevin McNeely and Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery in Marion. A time of visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
