Herrin- Audra Berniece Vose, age 85, of Herrin, passed away at 8:00pm on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at her home in Herrin.
Audra was born in Muldrow, Oklahoma on June 17, 1930, the daughter of Fred Henry and Lela Leona (Meadors) Allen. She married James Sloan in Vian, Oklahoma in August of 1946. He preceded her in in death in July of 1970. She later married Herald Vose in Pekin, Illinois in November of 1972. He preceded her in death in September of 1997. She was the widow of two proud World War II Veterans.
Mrs. Vose was a member of the Herrin Second Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and quilting.

Step-Daughter- Linda Youngblood of West Memphis, Arkansas
Step-Daughter- Christine and Jerry Dillon of Camus, Washington
Step-Son- Jerry and Nikki Wade of Maumelle, Arkansas
Four Grandchildren- Kathy and Kyle Decker of Centralia
Brian Bird of Wildwood, MO
Jennifer Messamore of Mayfield, KY
Carrie Christy of Carterville
Three Great Grandchildren- Kameron Decker, Kaleigh Duncan, and Ashley Messamore
Special Friend- Naomi Ridgeway of Carterville
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, Daughter- Ada Black, two brothers- Sonny and William Allen, and one sister- Clarris Phillips.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Matt Frizzell officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10-11am on Tuesday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
