Carterville- John T. “J.T.” Worthen, of Carterville, formerly of Herrin, passed away at 8:42am on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Herrin Hospital.

John was born in Murphysboro on September 20, 1972, the son of John Thomas and Lana (Baker) Worthen. He was a retired truck driver.

Survivors include his son- Dylan Worthen of Herrin

Son- Zach Worthen of Herrin

Son- Colton Long of Sedalia, MO

Mother of his children- Heather Wilson of Herrin

Grandson- Liam Worthen of Herrin

Mother- Lana Worthen of Herrin

Sister- Becky and Jody Leeper of Carterville

Brother- C.J. Worthen of Murphysboro

Long Time Significant Other- Michelle Stultz and her children- Cheyenne and Sierra Stultz all of Carterville

He was preceded in death by his father- John Thomas Worthen.

Memorial services will be held at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Pastor Michael Williams officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Wednesday evening at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the family c/o Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in order to help offset funeral expenses. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home; 201 S 13th Street; Herrin, IL 62948.

    I remember the many great times we all had at Grandma Bakers house on the holidays.
    Cambon Lake grandmas pool…..I could go on and on……you will be missed but not forgotten.
