Lena “Maxine” Kelly, 94, passed away on Thursday, May 01, 2014 at 1:40 am with her family by her side.

Maxine was born in Williamson County to William H. and Mabel (Marshall) Pemberton on August 22, 1919. She married Carol Kelly on January 5, 1938. To this marriage was born five children; daughters, Donna, Darles, Carolyn and sons Bill and Darrell.

Maxine was a member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church, Ladies Aid and the church sewing circle.

She is survived by her;

Donna Sims and husband Johnnie of Marion
Darles Jenkins of Marion
Carolyn Gray of Pittsburg
Two Sons;
Bill Kelly and wife Lynn of St. Louis, Missouri
Darrell Kelly and wife Pam of Marion
Thirteen grandchildren;

Preceded by her Parents, Husband, Great Grandchild – Colby Sims, Son-in-laws – Bill Jenkins and Joe Gray, Four Brothers – Leland, Charles, Eldon and Bill Pemberton, Sister – Reva Hope.

Funeral services will be Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 2 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial will follow in Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 11 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

For those who prefer memorials may be made to Freedom Cemetery or Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, IL 62959.
