Georgia E. Hastings, 87, of Marion passed away at 1:35 A.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at the Marion Memorial Hospital.
Georgia was born on May 29, 1915 in Franklin County to John and Anna (Webb) Boswell; they preceded her in death. She married James ?Bill? Hastings on September 14, 1934 in Marion. He preceded her in death on October 26, 1989.
Georgia is survived by a son and daughter in law, Dale and Nancy Hastings of Marion, IL, a daughter and son in law, Janene and George Spicer of Wolf Lake, IL, seven grandchildren, Treina & Caroll Basham of Marion, Starla & Rich Kuberski of Wentzville, MO, Skyla & Brian Stotlar of Marion, Bobby & Robin Spicer of Grand Tower, Jeff & Elizabeth Spicer of Murphysboro, IL, Mary & David Smith of Wolf Lake, IL, and Kathy & Bill Chapman of Wolf Lake, IL, and seventeen great grandchildren. A sister in law, Laverne Boswell of South Roxanna, IL, a brother and sister in law, Marion and Dorothy Boswell of Sun City, AZ, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Loran Ray Hastings, three brothers and one sister.
Georgia was a member of the Arnold View Freewill Baptist Church.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with the Rev. Ivan Ryan officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser, IL. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
