Opal Parks
Opal M. Parks, 74, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at 11:02 P.M. at Herrin Hospital.
Opal was born August 18, 1938 in Smithland, Kentucky to Frank McDonald and Florence (Bozarth) Bradshaw. She married Lester �Junior� Parks on October 22, 1954 in Salem and together they shared over 46 years of marriage until his death on March 16, 2001.
She was a homemaker. Opal loved to play bingo at the KC�s on Monday and Thursdays. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors include;
Daughter � Carol Parks of Johnston City
Son � Dale Branche and wife Annette of Freeman Spur
Several grandchildren and great grandchildren
Brother � Forrest McDonald of Brookport
Sister � Wilma Gibbs of Harrisburg
Preceded by her Parents, Husband � Lester Parks, Son � Larry Parks and two brothers.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11 A.M. at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Don Travelstead officiating. Burial will follow in White Oak Cemetery in Creal Springs. Visitation will be Friday from 9 A.M. until the time of service at the funeral home.
