June L. Hess
Herrin- June L. Hess, 84, of Herrin, formerly of Marion, passed away at 1:20 AM, Monday, February 7, 2011, at Shawnee Christian Nursing Center in Herrin.
June was born on March 19, 1926 in Christopher to Eugene & Mary (Williams) Donelson. She married Robert Hess on September 15, 1961 in Grassy Township. He preceded her in death in January of 1996.
She was a strong Christian lady who taught Sunday school and worked in the church nursery at Lone Oak Baptist Church where she was a member for many, many years. June was a homemaker and her sweet smile will be missed by those that knew and loved her.
Survivors include-
Son- Marvin Napier of West Frankfort
Son- Johnny Hess of Carterville
Son- Timothy Joe Hess and wife Theresa of Enid, OK
Son- Robert Hess and wife Sheila of Goreville
Son- Jeffery Hess of Marion
Many Grandchildren and great grandchildren
Sister- Ann Morrison of Michigan
Sister- Vicki Revello of Detroit, MI
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Jimmie Dale Hess, daughter- Roberta Goldsmith, grandchild- Rose Marie Napier and sister- Hazel Perquette.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Saturday, February 12, 2011 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Jerry Schell will officiate. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Herrin. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 PM, Friday, February 11, 2011 at the funeral home.
Memorial donations are suggested to Lone Oak Baptist Church/Building Fund and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St/ Herrin, IL 62948.
