Richard L. Holland, Sr.
Hurst- Richard "Luke" Holland, Sr., 69, of Hurst, passed away at 9:45 AM, Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at his wife�s home in Cambria.
Richard was born on December 6, 1936 in Bush to John Sam & Mattie L. (Whitacker) Holland. He married Annette Hammontree on August 4, 1955 in Williamson County. She survives of Cambria.
Mr. Holland formerly worked at Coppers-Tie Plant. He was of Pentecost Faith.
He was a member of the Herrin American Legion. When he was able he enjoyed bass fishing at Bush Lake and �Hogging� for catfish with his bare hands. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing with his dog �Little Bit�.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers their spouses; James & Edith Holland, Henry �Peck� & Anne Holland, Oathur �Boob� Holland, Edward Holland, and Charles �Carligo� & Ruby Holland, and two sisters; Irma & Bud Thompson and Mildred �Midge� Inchcliff. Two infant sisters also preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Friday, March 10, 2006 at the funeral home.
