Ida E. Crespi

Herrin- Ida E. Crespi, 87, of Herrin, passed away at 5:25 PM, Friday, August 5, 2005 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Ida was born on October 20, 1917 in Herrin to Louis A. & Elena (Berra) Crespi. She retired from Smoller Bros. Inc. in 1983 where she worked as a button maker.
Miss Crespi was a devout catholic and an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. She was a member of the Daughter�s of Mary.
Ida enjoyed her family and friends. She went out with her girlfriends every Saturday night and looked forward to visiting her relatives in Wisconsin each August. She was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and a St. Louis Cardinal fan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, nephew; David Grundy, sisters; Elaine Grundy & Josephine Crespi, and two brothers; Nasi & Jackie Crespi.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Burial will follow at San Carlo Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM, Monday, August 8, 2005 at the funeral home. A prayer service will be recited at 6:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
