Edward D. Vodak

Marion-Edward D. Vodak, 83, died 6:05 P.M., Saturday, May 7, 2005 at Fountains Nursing Home in Marion.
He was born January 5, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward & Myrtle (Patterson) Vodak. He married Wanda Newlin on February 21, 1941 in Jackson, Missouri.
He was retired from DRIVE ALL Manufacturing in Detroit. He was a veteran of United States Army, serving his country during WWII.
He attended the First Baptist Church in Herrin. He was a member of VFW #1301 of Marion.

Son & Daughter-In-Law: Edward & Catherine Vodak of Roseville, MI.
Daughter: Vicki Loyd of Marion
Four Grandchildren: Phillip Wisecarver of Houston, TX.
Steven & wife Camilla Wisecarver of Herrin
Jason & wife Mary Vodak of Fraser, MI.
Matthew Vodak of Roseville, MI.
Seven Great Great Grandchildren: Sarah, Abigail & Evan Wisecarver
Caitlyn, Matthew, Elisa & Nicholas Vodak
Brother: Bill Thieman of St. Louis, MO.
Sister & Brother-In-Law: Margaret & Cliff Johnson of Arnold, MO.
Brother-In-Law: Carl Edwards of Marion
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Grammer officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post #1301.
Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 A.M., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
