Verna Patton
Herrin- Verna Patton, 82, of Herrin, formerly of Peoria, passed away at 12:50 P.M., Friday, November 19, 2004 at Mt. Vernon Care Center.
Mrs. Patton was born on July 23, 1922 in Williamson County, Illinois to Frank & Sallie (Robinson) Huggins. She married Clifford E. Patton on May 16, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1983.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin and the Pimietvoi Hiking Club in Peoria.

Nephew- Frank Thompson & wife Lila- Mt. Vernon
Great Nephew- Frank Thompson, Jr. & wife Donna- Mt. Vernon
Great Nephew- Francis W. Huggins- Mt. Vernon
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son; Lewis R. Patton, two brothers; Wesley & Buell Huggins and one sister; Reva Pansy Thompson.
The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 26, 2004 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Herrin. Monsignor Ken Schaefer will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of procession to the church, Friday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria, IL.
