Wayne L. Odum

Wayne L. Odum, age 74, of Marion, died Wednesday, July 25th at 11:10 P.M. at his home. Visitation for Mr. Odum will be from 5:00-9:00 P.M. Friday, July 27th at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion. The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 28th with Dr. John Fozzard officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion. Memorials may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund in Marion. Mr. Odum was born June 15, 1927 in Williamson County to Leo and Ruby (ONeal) Odum. Both parents preceded him in death. He married Shirley R. King on December 24, 1949, in Marion. He was a member of Second Baptist Church in Marion. He was also a member of the Southern Illinois Wally Byam Caravan Club since 1975. Mr. Odum was a World War II Army Veteran. Mr. Odum was retired, after working over 35 years at Odums Machine Shop. Survivors include his wife, Shirley, his three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry L. & Debbie Odum, Gary L. & Paula Odum, and Jerry D. & Mary Jo Odum, and six grandchildren, Amber, Shawn, Zach, Justin, Josh & Hunter Odum, all of Marion. He is also survived by one sister, Ardis McCutheor, and her husband, Jim, of Chicago.
