Venita M. Marks

Marion- Venita M. Marks, 91, of Marion, passed away at 8:20 PM, Friday, December 30, 2016 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Venita was born on February 21, 1925 in Marion to Cecil and Verna (Westmoreland) Ward.  She married Lloyd Marks on June 28, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, MO.  He preceded her in death on 2003. She was a homemaker and enjoyed working at the clothing center in Marion.  She helped kids with back to school supplies and clothing.  She was a member of Parrish Park Baptist Church in Marion and served as the church secretary for a number of years.  She enjoyed travelling with Lloyd and spending time with her family. Survivors include- Five Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son- Dennis Marks and one brother- Wendell Ward. A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion.  Rev. Larry Lee will officiate.  Funeral services were arranged at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion.
