Troy L. "Bob" Miskelley

Troy L "Bob" Miskelley, age 93, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Monday, November 8, 2021 at his home.
Troy was born January 10, 1928 in Nauvoo, Alabama, the son of Tim and Dottie (Dorsett) Miskelley. His family moved to Illinois when he was young. He served with the US Navy Sea Bees during WWII. He married Rose M. Arnold on January 24, 1948 in Pittsburg, IL. He drove a truck for a while and started working at Freeman #4 coal mine, where he worked for 36 years. He was a member of the UMWA. In retirement he enjoyed fishing, bowling, and worked construction. Troy and his wife Rose provided a home for 52 foster children over the years. He will be missed and is truly loved.

He is survived by five children, Stanley (Maria) Miskelley of Pittsburg, IL, Ricky Gene Miskelley of Marion, IL, David Miskelley of O Fallon, MO, Patricia (Bruce) Bargo of Pittsburg, IL, and Jane Ann (Steve) Elders of Carterville, IL; fourteen grandchildren, Lee (Angie) Miskelley , Michael Miskelley, Eva Miskelley, Crystal (Larry) Knight, Jessica (Mark) Travis , April (Amanda) Miskelley , Kristina Miskelley, Tiffany (James) Short , Jeffrey Bargo, Kimberly (Donald) Norris , Bryan (Amy) Elders , Brandon (Joanie) Elders , Kelley Miskelley, and Darrin Miskelley; Great Granchildren, 30, and Great Great Granchildren 11. four siblings, John (Debbie) Miskelley of Norfolk, AR, Howard Miskelley of Marion, IL, Tom Miskelley of Marion, IL, and Carole Delashment of Naples, FL. He is preceded in death by his wife Rose M. Miskelley; his parents, Tim Miskelley and Dottie Miskelley; and six siblings, Wayne Miskelley, Tim Miskelley, Roy Miskelley, Joann Kennedy, Venita Cullum, and Adell Morris.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Friday, November 12, 2021 from 10:00 -11:00 AM at Mitchell-Hughes funeral home in Marion, Illinois. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, November 12th, 2021 at Mitchell Hughes with Pastor Jimmy Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Poordo.
