Just to clarify my Dads Obituary:
His children: Laura Ellen Volz (Jan Eric), Melissa Ann Morley (Mark), Angela Kay Janczak (David)and Dianna Porter were with his first wife, Geraldine \"Gerri\" Carole(Meseck) Porter who was not mentioned in his obituary(not with his second wife as listed, Beverly Bible.
After they met while attending Carthage College, Tom and Gerri were married on Aug 3, 1963 and their marriage lasted over 25 years. A large portion of Dad\'s life was spent in this family raising his daughters...
My dad was the oldest of 3 boys. His brother Bill, an ophthalmologist had 4 children with his first wife Gretchen (Billy, Scott Christopher and Elizabeth), his youngest brother Richard was in various businesses and had no children.
We saw very little of my Uncle Bill and his family because they resided in CA and we were in IL, however my dad and Uncle Richard were very close through their adult years. They spent countless hours hunting, fishing, trapping, etc, and laughing at funny shows on TV. Unfortunately they had an ethical falling out in my dads later years as he was battling Parkinson\'s disease and while their father Eugene \"Gene\" Porter was coming to the end of his life. For last few years of my dad\'s life he and his brother Richard were not on speaking terms. It was a sad circumstance, but life isn\'t always pretty. I just thought the record should be complete and accurate for any future generations who are interested.
