Herrin- Terry Lee Jones, 62, died at 7:06 p.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2001 at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL. Mr. Jones was born November l9, l938 in Herrin to Robert and Gladys (Bird) Jones. He married Mary Jane Hunsick on June l, l963 in Herrin. She survives. He was general sales manager of Auffenberg Chrysler in Herrin. He was a member of OLMC Catholic Church in Herrin, the Herrin Elks Club and the Herrin KC's. He played for the Chicago Cubs organization for 5 years as a catcher. He coached American Legion ball for 3 years and was a member of the American Legion. He was a U. S. Army veteran. Survivors include: His wife - Mary Jane Jones - Herrin His mother - Gladys Jones - Herrin Daughter and son in law - Leanne & Tim Johnson - Herrin Grandchildren - Shiann and Derrick Johnson _ Herrin Daughter and son in law - Alison & Kyle Grant - Herrin Grandchildren - Lauren Deaton, Lindsey & Jacob Grant - Herrin Brother and sister in law - John Robert & Donna Jones - Herrin Sister and brother in law - Ruth Ann & Otis Calliss - Herrin Mother in law - Mary Hunsick - Herrin Several Nieces and Nephews - Sister in law - Betty Guido _ Herrin Numerous special friends His father and one grandson, Justin Scott Johnson preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2001 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Msg. Ken Schaefer will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at San Carlo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the OLMC School Foundation or the Prairie Heart Institute Cardiac Recovery Unit at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL and will be accepted at the funeral home.
