She was born August 2, l9l6 in Herrin, IL to Joseph and Natalena Garegnani Garavalia. She married James Vowell June 8, l940 in St. Louis, MO. He died August l5, l998. She worked for Woolworth's, Boxer's Department Store, Fairchild's all in St. Louis. She was a member of the OLMC Catholic Church in Herrin, IL and a member of the Catholic Women's Club. Survivors include: Son and dtr in law - J. Larry & Earline Vowell - Town and Country, MO Son and dtr in law - Richard and Mary Ellen Vowell - Fenton, MO 5 grandchildren 4 great grandchildren Proceeded by parents, one sister Romilda Olmstead, one brother, Charles "Sparky" Garavalia. Funeral services will be at l0:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2001 at OLMC Catholic Church in Herrin. Msg. Ken Schaefer will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin, IL. There will be a Prayer Service at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial at San Carlo Cemetery in Herrin, IL. Memorials may be made to San Carlo Cemetery and will be accepted at the funeral Home, 201 South 13th, Herrin, IL 62948.
