Sue E. Payne

Sue E. Payne, 81, of Marion, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 7:15 pm at her home. Sue was born December 17, 1935 in Marion the daughter of Cecil and Ethel (Gunter) Sullins. She married Charles Ray Payne on January 19, 1952 in Marion and together they shared over 41 years of marriage until his death on June 14, 1993. She attended Community Chapel Church in Marion and retired from Herrin Hospital as a Nurses Aid. Survivors include her:Daughter – Mary Morgan and husband William of Marion Daughter – Janice Payne of Marion Son – Paul Payne and wife Catherine of Pittsburg Daughter – Patricia Barnaby and husband Al of Marion Daughter – Sharon Barnaby and husband Jim of Marion Eleven grandchildren Thirteen great grandchildren Four sisters; Peggy “Lois” Arndoff of Marion Glenda Hasting of Johnston City Sybil Wilbanks of St. Louis, Missouri Eloise Hazel of Paducah, Kentucky Several nieces and nephews Proceeded by her Parents, Husband, Granddaughter – Melissa Barnaby, Great granddaughter – Makayla Morrison, Brother – Monroe Madison “Buddy” Sullins Funeral services will be Friday, October 27, 2017 at 1 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow in Herrin City Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 11 am – 1 pm at the funeral home.
