Steve Franklin Morse

Carterville- Steve Franklin Morse, age 74, of Carterville, passed away at 11:00am on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Steve was born in Herrin on January 7, 1946, the son of Lee Roy and Stella Mae (Minor) Morse. He married Sharon Kay Moss in May of 1966. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2018.

Survivors include:

Daughter Stephanie Melinda Morse of Carterville

Daughter- Melissa Lee Ann and Michael Lambert and son Sidney of Carterville

Son- Daryl Bradley and Megan Morse of Carterville

Three Grandchildren- Bryar and Gabrielle Morse of Herrin

     Eli Morse of Carterville

     Aiden Morse of Carterville

Sister- Teresa and Bert Jones of Herrin

Brother- Jerry and Sherry Morse of Herrin

Brother- Larry and Brenda Morse of Murphysboro

Brother- Robert Morse and fiancé Melody Beers of Cambria

Nephew- Mark Moss of Herrin

Niece- Amelia Kolkmeyer of Colorado

Cousins- Carol O’Daniel of Jonesboro

     Carlos Morse of Marion

Great Niece and Great Nephew- Madison and Michael Moss

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers- Lynn and Kenneth Morse, and brother-in-law- Bruce Moss.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10am on Friday, October 9, 2020 at Blairsville Cemetery with Rev. Matt Brown officiating. Family and friends may gather directly at the cemetery. For those who wish to go in procession from the funeral home, for a final pass by Steve’s home, please meet at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin by 9am on Friday. The procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15am.
