Sandra Sue Jordan

Herrin- Sandra Sue Jordan, 73, of Herrin, passed away at 9:32 AM, Friday, December 16, 2016 at Herrin Hospital. Sandra was born on November 7, 1943 in Herrin to John and Dorthella (Wade) McVey.  She married Rowan Edward “Ed” Jordan on September 10, 1961 in Herrin.  He preceded her in death on September 13, 1976. She was a retired bookkeeper and customer service representative for the First National Bank in Carbondale. She was a member of the Herrin J.C.’s and Carbondale Garden Club. Survivors include- Daughter- Wendy Smith and husband David of Marion Daughter- Cindy Fenton of Herrin Brother- Cary McVey and wife Chris of Carbondale Nephews- Matthew, Timothy and Patrick McVey of Carbondale Her beloved dog- “Sassy” She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 19, 2016 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.  Rev. Don Colson will officiate.  Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy.  Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Monday at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
