Rosemarie Logsdon

Rosemarie Logsdon, age 79, of Marion, Illinois, passed away Friday, May 20, 2022 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Illinois.

Rosemarie was born November 16, 1942 in Red Bud, Illinois, a daughter of Paul H. and Esther M. (Wilkening) Voss. She married Robert E. "Curly" Logsdon on November 08, 1963 in West Frankfort, IL. Rose grew up in Red Bud, IL, her family moved to Marion and she graduated Marion High School in 1961. She worked as a waitress at Pulley's BBQ, where she met her husband. She later worked at Olin and then as an Aid on Marion School Bus routes, and finally did home healthcare. She cared for her mother after her father passed away, cleaning and cooking meals. Rose loved to read and was a wonderful cook, well known for her chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, and sage cornbread stuffing. She attended Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Marion.

She is survived by her husband Robert E. "Curly" Logsdon Sr. of Marion, IL; two children, Elizabeth A. (Samuel) Kelly of High Point, NC and Robert E. "Bobby" (Mike) Logsdon Jr. of Byrnes Mill, MO; three grandchildren, Ryan P. Kelly, Garrett M. Kelly, and Jordan S. Kelly; and two brothers, Marvin (Francis) Voss of Makanda, IL and Edwin (Therese) Voss of The Villages, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul H. and Esther M. Voss and two sisters, Pauline Alsip and Eileen Stone.

Visitation will be Tuesday, May 24th, 2022 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2022, 11:00 AM at Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Don Colson officiating. Burial will follow at Shed Cemetery in Crab Orchard.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Shriner's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available the day of the service at the funeral home or by mail to Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
