Robert "Bob" L. Jarvis

Robert "Bob" Louis Jarvis, age 89, of Carterville, Illinois, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at his home in Carterville, Illinois.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 20th, 2021 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Tom Bevis officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Carbondale. Visitation will be Saturday, November 20, 2021 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Robert was born January 04, 1932 in Herrin, Illinois, a son of Robert and Amy (Laffoon) Jarvis. He married the love of his life, Betty Lou Oliver on July 03, 1952 in Johnston City, IL. She preceded him in death on July 21, 2016.

He is survived by two daughters, Bobbette George (Jerome) of Herrin, IL and Brenta Bevis (Eddie) of Ava, IL; four grandchildren, Ryan George (Stacy) of Knoxville, TN, Jonathan Bevis (Kara) of Herrin, IL, Destiny Griffith (Jordan) of Herrin, IL, and Andrew Bevis (Shayla) of Mt. Vernon, IL; one sister, Phyllis Gulley of Herrin, IL; and his Great Grandchildren Braxton, Asher and Aria George, Great Grandchildren Charleston and Emery Bevis, Great Grandchildren Avery and Lily Bevis, and Great Grandchildren Tatum Griffith and a baby Griffith on the way.

He is preceded in death by one son, Brent Jarvis and eight siblings, Cecil Jarvis, George Jarvis, Jim Jarvis, Pearl Younkin, Violet Mae Jarvis, Shirley Schaefer, Betty Jean Jarvis, and Pat Jarvis.

Robert been employed by Olin in Marion. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. .
