Richard "Richie" Murowchick

Richard “Richie” Murowchick, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 5:06 am at his home.

Richie was born August 9, 1946 in Chicago the son of Anna Murowchick.  He loved church, and going to work at Centerstone Sheltered Workshop. Going to work everyday was very important to him.  Richie enjoyed cheeseburgers, french fries and Coca-Cola.  He loved all the holidays, but Halloween and Christmas were his favorites. He enjoyed Christmas music all year round. He loved to draw and color.  Richie was very active in Special Olympics, where he participated in Bocce, Bowling and Track & Field competitions.

He is survived by the staff and friends at the Rendleman Group Home and the Centerstone Vocational Services.

Preceded by friends at the Rendleman Group Home, including: Gayle, Carla, and Steve.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin, Illinois with Rev. Michael Tetmeyer officiating.  Friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.  Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting with arrangements.
