Patrick A. Lucier, 87, of Lake of Egypt, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 12:24 am at Herrin Hospital. Pat was born May 21, 1930 in Murphysboro the son of John and Olive (Sides) Lucier. He married Shirley Moore on October 3, 1953 in East St. Louis, Illinois and they would have celebrated 64 years of marriage next month. He was a Navy veteran, proudly answering the call to serve his country during the Korean War. Pat retired as a Captain from the East St. Louis police department after 26 years.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and lifetime member of the Marion V.F.W. In addition to his wife Shirley, he is survived by his daughter – Cheryl Rautenstrauch, two grandsons – Neil Rautenstrauch, Casey Rautenstrauch and his wife Anna, their children Alexandria and Nolan, all of the Lake of Egypt, sister – Mickey Parnell of Perryville, Missouri. Preceded by his Parents, son – Michael Lucier, granddaughter – Brooke Rautenstrauch and brother – Donald Lucier. Funeral services will be Friday, September 29, 2017 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Monsignor Thomas Flach officiating. Burial will follow in County Line Cemetery.  Military rites will be presented by members of the Marion VFW Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and Navy Flag Detail Unit.  Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
