Paralee Elizabeth Deaton

Paralee Elizabeth Deaton, 89, of Marion, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2016 at her home.  Paralee was born May 23, 1927 in Clifford, Illinois the daughter of Jacob and Rosa (Howard) Whitecotton.  She married William E. “Bill” Deaton on June 16, 1946 in Piggott, Arkansas and together they shared over 63 years of marriage until his death on February 9, 2010.  She was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Marion.   Survivors include her;Two sons; William Deaton and wife Helen  of Marion David Deaton and wife Toni of Marion Daughter; Janet Stilley and husband Jack of Marion Son-in-law – Steve Romans of Marion Seven Grandchildren; Randy Stilley and wife Kim of Marion Tara Furlong and husband Kenny of Marion Michael Chamness of Marion Jason Stilley and wife Leann of Paducah, Kentucky Christy Norman and husband Donny of Marion Tyson Deaton of New York Ryan Deaton and wife Tera of Marion Several Great and Great Great Grandchildren Sister-in-law – Dorris Whitecotton of DuQuoin Two sisters; Rosalie Nadler and husband Arnold of Benton Phyllis McSpadden of Naperville Several nieces and nephews  Preceded by her Parents, Husband, daughter – Carol Romans,  great granddaughter – Lindsey Nicole Furlong, eight brothers – Leslie Whitecotton, Robert Emery, Clarence, Whitecotton, Herbert Whitecotton, Alvin Whitecotton, Howard Emery, Hollis Emery, Jacob Whitecotton and six sisters – Irene Hand, Emma Hand, Ruth Salome, Ella Bateman, Dorothy Brandon and Lela Greathouse.   Funeral services will be Friday, June 10, 2016 at 1:30 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Wagner officiating.  Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday from 11:30 am until the time of service at the funeral home.  For those who prefer memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois.  Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois  62959.
