Norene Sonia Lepinske

Marion- Norene Sonia Lepinske, age 83, of Marion, passed away at 10:20pm on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

Norene was born in Chicago on August 19, 1937, the daughter of Ermie and Mary Margaret (Droog) Hensel. She married Gerald J. Lepinske in Chicago on May 4, 1963. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2016. Together they shared almost 53 years of marriage.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion.  Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a legal secretary and also as an accounts manager at Mac Trucks.

Mother of Gerald Joseph Lepinske, Jr. (Diane), Theresa Ann Thompson (David E.), Paul James Lepinske, and Donald John Lepinske (Andrea), Sister of Mary Anne Costello (Andy), Sister-in-law of Harry H. Lepinske (Emilie) and loving grandmother of Tiffany, Misty, Carrie, Angel, Selena, Ginny, Tyler, and Jordan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter-in-law – Melissa Lepinske, and brother- Ermie Hensel.

Graveside services will be held at 11am on Friday, April 16, 2021 at New Salem Cemetery in Creal Springs with Brother Leroy Waggoner officiating.  Burial will follow in New Salem Cemetery in Creal Springs. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery.
