West Frankfort- Nicholas Timothy "Nick" Smith, 28, of West Frankfort, died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident at 10:18 PM, Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in Herrin. Nick was born on February 14, 1989 in LaGrange, IL to Scott and the late Elizabeth Anne (Steinlicht) Smith. He was engaged to be married to Tiffany Minton of West Frankfort. He currently worked in the warehouse for the Heartland Coca Cola Company in DuQuoin. Prior to that he worked seven years as a chef at Cracker Barrel in Marion. In his spare time he enjoyed all things Harley Davidson motorcycle, Star Wars, Harry Potter and Magic the Gathering. He liked spending quality time with his close friends and family and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Survivors include- Father- Scott Smith of DuQuoin Fiance- Tiffany Minton of West Frankfort Daughter- Luna Beth Smith of West Frankfort Four step children who considered him a father- Isabella “Bella”, Maylee, Jacob and Eminence Minton Sister- JoAnn Berg of Flossmore Sister- Amanda Matay of Sulphur, LA Sister- Justine Smith of Romeoville Brother- Frank Smith of Appleton, WI Brother- Jacob and wife Kristina Smith of Carterville and their children: Adyn, Gavin, & Beth Many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends He was preceded in death by his mother- Elizabeth and his grandparents. A celebration of life will be held at 3:00 PM on July 15th at Bald Knob Cross in Alto Pass.   A reception and dinner will follow the memorial service at Bald Knob Cross. It will take place at the at the Marion American Legion Post/ 11720 Longstreet/ Marion, IL 62959.  Memorial arrangements were made at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Memorial donations are suggested to a trust which will be established for Luna Beth Smith and will be accepted at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home/ 201 S. 13th St./ Herrin, IL 62948.
