Millie King

Herrin- Mildred Eileen (Millie) King, 79, of Herrin, passed away at 4:47 PM, Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Herrin Hospital. Millie was born on February 18, 1938 in Hilltop, KY to Walter and Pearl (Ross) King. She was a hard working lady and worked 20 years as a supervisor for the Illinois Department of Employment Security. She was a member of AFSCME. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and shopping.  She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was spending quality time with her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by those that knew and loved her. Survivors include- Son- Jeffrey King and wife Ginger of Charlotte, NC Grandchildren- Jordyn and Shiloh King of Charlotte, NC Brother- Frank King of Florida Brother- Kenny King and wife Carol of Zeigler One niece and several nephews She was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service, Thursday, at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
