Matthew Lee Holland

Herrin- Matthew Lee Holland, age 53, of Herrin, passed away at 11:26am on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Herrin Hospital.

Matthew was born in Marion on February 21, 1967, the son of Paul and Sally (Richardson) Holland.

Matt was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed working on cars and any small engine. His friends and family meant the world to him, especially his great nieces and nephews, who were the loves of his life. Matt had the type of personality that never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Survivors include his parents- Paul and Sally Holland of Herrin

Sister- Kelly Peters and husband Carl of Freeman Spur

Sister- Kathy Benjamin of Herrin

Brother- Paul Holland, Jr. and wife Connie of Herrin

Nieces and Nephews- Gene Peters and fiancé Elishia Shepard

     Sonya and Michael Jepsen

     Seanna and Zach Calcaterra

     Carla and Anthony Whitfield

     Stephen and Toni Benjamin

     Dalton, Amy Jo, and Wyatt Holland

Great Nieces and Nephews- Leila, Isaac, Eli, Noah, Syllus, Damon, Carter and two on the way

DUE TO HEALTH CONCERNS RELATED TO THE COVID-19 VIRUS AND BY THE SIGNING OF EXECUTIVE ORDER BY GOVERNOR J.B. PRITZKER, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
