Mary Lou Ashby, age 69, of Pittsburg, passed away at 10:10am on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Mary Lou was born in Peoria on August 27, 1952 and raised the daughter of Arvel Nolen and Pauline (O’Neil) West. She married Paul Edgar Ashby II at Mt. Pleasant Poordo on November 20, 1971.

Mary Lou had attended Angelville Church in Pittsburg. She had worked as a beautician, owning and operating Mary Lou’s Salon from 1978 until her retirement in 2018. 

Survivors include her loving husband- Paul Ashby II of Pittsburg

Son- Eric Ashby of Pittsburg

Son- Adam and Melissa Ashby of Pittsburg

Four Grandchildren- Brayden and Ethan Ashby of Pittsburg

     Gabriel and Adam Ashby II of Pittsburg

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers- Jimmy and Robert West, and her aunt- Betty Traverso.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Jason Jean officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Poordo. A time of visitation will be held from 10:00am until 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.

For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home; 800 N. Market Street; Marion, IL 62959.
