Carterville - Mark A. McNeill, 47, died at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, IL. Mr. McNeill was born May 25, l954 in Herrin to Don and Elizabeth Witzel McNeill. He married Jayne Ann Emery on August 4, l995 in Marion. She survives. He was the owner of Mark McNeill Fine Jewelry in Herrin and was formerly manager of Don's Jewelry in Carbondale for 20 years. He was a member of Scottsboro Baptist Church in Marion and a member and Past President of the Herrin Better Business Association. He was co-chairman and instrumental in the establishment of the Coal Miner's Memorial in downtown Herrin and an avid fisherman. Survivors include: His wife- Jayne Ann McNeill - Carterville His mother - Elizabeth McNeill McPheron - Herrin Mother in law and father in law - Helen and Charles Emery - Marion Daughter - Marnie McNeill - Carterville, IL Son - Matthew McNeill - Carterville, IL Brother and sister in law - Steve and Diana McNeill- Herrin Sister - Dawn McNeill - Herrin Brother and sisters in law - Jim and Patty Emery - Marion Randy and Margaret Emery - Marion Great Aunt - Mabel Fozard - Carbondale, IL Several nieces and nephews His father Don McNeill in l995 preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2001 at Johnson Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Revs. Kenny Johnson and Kevin McNeely will officiate. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to the Scottsboro Baptist Church or Hope Lodge, care of the American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63108 and will be accepted at the funeral home.
