Margaret Ellen Osman, 77, of Marion, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 5:15 pm at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family.
Margaret was born March 28, 1939 in Herrin the daughter of Andrew and Minnie ( ) Smothers. She married Lindell G. Osman on December 26, 1957 in Rudement, Illinois and together they shared 55 years of marriage until he preceded her in death on December 26, 2012.
She was a member of Redemption Church of Johnston City. Margaret retired from the Manteno, Illinois Veteran’s Home, where she had worked in the finance department.
Survivors include her;
Daughter – Robin Tarlton and husband Michael of Marion
Five grandchildren;
Andrew Osman and wife Brooke of Marion
Lauren Osman and Aaron Ellison of Marion
Noah Tarlton of Marion
Justin Tarlton currently serving in the Air Force, stationed in Korea
Brandon Tarlton of Herrin
Four great grandchildren;
Kalena Tarlton, Marley Ellison, Grayson Osman and Cooper Ellison
Brother – Marshall Neil Smothers and wife Edna of Bonne Terre, Missouri
Several Nieces and Nephews
Preceded by her Parents, Husband – Lindell Osman and Daughter – Melissa Osman.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 12 pm at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Fountain Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Farming God’s Way Haiti Mission. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois 62959.
