Lowell "Hoss" Kerr

September 2, 1926 — July 18, 2020

Lowell “Hoss” Kerr passed away July 18, 2020 at Barnes Hospital of St. Louis, with his loving wife by his side.

One of six children, he was born September 2, 1926, in Marion, Illinois to George and Ollie (Wilfong) Kerr. All have preceded him in death. Hoss married Norma Woolard sixty-five years ago. From this union, came two sons, Michael and Louis, both of whom also preceded him in death.

Hoss was a proud United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Marion First Baptist Church, where he served as an usher for several years. Hoss was a respected antique dealer. He and his wife, Norma, enjoyed their frequent buying trips to New England.

Graveside services will be held at 11am on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at Maplewood Cemetery. A eulogy will be given by Jacob Priddy, Keith Gardner, and Mike Malone. Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.

For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Building Fund at the Marion First Baptist Church. Envelopes will be available at the graveside service or at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home; 800 N Market Street; Marion, IL 62959.
