Lois M. Garavaglia

Freeman Spur- Lois May "Missy" Garavaglia, 85, of Freeman Spur, passed away at 12:00 AM, Monday, May 29, 2017 at Herrin Hospital. Lois was born on July 31, 1931 in Freeman Spur to Thomas and Neva (Helms) Gentry. She married Jim R. Garavaglia on May 17, 1952 in Piggott, Arkansas. He survives of Freeman Spur. She attended Freeman Freewill Baptist Church and was a Christian. She truly enjoyed caring for her family by cooking and cleaning and spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. She also liked to spend evenings swinging on her porch swing and talking on the phone. Survivors include- Husband- Jim Garavaglia of Freeman Spur Son- Charles Garavaglia and wife Linda of Herrin Son- Jim Garavaglia and Cindy Laur of Elkville Daughter- Lou Ann Hamby and husband Gary of Freeman Spur Son- Tracy Garavaglia and Jennifer Korando of Freeman Spur Nine Grandchildren Eleven Great Grandchildren Five Great Great Grandchildren Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until time of service, Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
