Linda Louise Burgess

Linda Louise Burgess, age 79, of Herrin, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at her home in Herrin, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born January 06, 1943 in Herrin, Illinois, a daughter of Carl and Lucille (Jeralds) Leeper. She married the love of her life, James Allen Burgess, in Herrin on July 11, 1961. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2006.

She is survived by her daughter- Kelly Jo Brown of Houston, TX; daughter-in-law- Joyce Burgess; three granddaughters, Kaitlin Pool, Jessica Burgess, and Mikayla (Tristan) McAtee; siblings, Carl L. (Mary) Leeper, Ronald D. Leeper, Val Gross, Gary (Kathy) Leeper, Carolyn Sue Leeper, Phillip (Cheryl) Leeper, and Christina Herrington; brother-in-law- Dennis Burgess; sister-in-law- Christine (Leo) McDonald; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband; one son, William "Billy" Burgess; her parents, Carl and Lucille (Jeralds) Leeper; and three siblings, Glen Gilbert Leeper, Rebecca Gross, and Charles Leeper.

A time of visitation will be held Thursday, August 11th, 2022 from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
