Kenneth Eugene Keyser

July 20, 1942 — April 3, 2023

Marion

Kenneth Eugene Keyser, 80, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully left this world on April 3, 2023. He has now joined the love of his life up in heaven, where we know they will continue to watch over their family.

Kenneth was born on July 20, 1942, in Fairfield, Illinois where he grew up and when he was in high school his family moved to Marion, IL. He married Nancy Jean Proctor on July 7, 1961 and went to Chicago to work. In 1972 he moved back to Southern Illinois and worked for Jones Excavating, hauling heavy equipment, until his retirement. He then worked for his son at Keyser Auto Sales in Marion. Kenneth was a member of the Teamsters, and Laborers Union in Chicago.

He was a kind-hearted and gentle soul who devoted his life to his family. He was a loving husband and a devoted father to his children, who were the center of his world. He was also a doting grandfather who cherished spending time with his grandchildren, always eager to hear about their latest adventures and accomplishments. Throughout his life, he demonstrated his love and dedication to his family in countless ways. He was always there to lend a listening ear or offer a helping hand, and his infectious laughter and warm smile brought joy to those around him.

He is survived by his sons: Kevin (Becky) Keyser and Brad (Leigh Ann) Keyser, his grandchildren: Kiersten Kerley, Kolby (Bailey) Keyser, Morgan Keyser, Kameron Keyser, Kaylee (Trent) Vancil and Charlee Reynolds, great-grandchildren: Kensleigh Kerley, Kya Keyser and Kyson Keyser, two bonus great-grandchildren: Paisleigh and Emma, his sister Diane (Jerry) Pritchett, and several extended family and friends.

Although his passing leaves a deep void in the lives of those who knew him, we take comfort in knowing that he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Nancy, and his daughter, Roxane, who preceded him in death. We know that they are watching over us, guiding us with their love and wisdom.

He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and friends. We will always remember his kind spirit, his unwavering love, and his devotion to his family. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.

There are no services planned at this time for Kenneth E. Keyser. Mitchell Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
