Juttie S. Harrison

Juttie S. Harrison, age 95, of Marion, passed away at 6:50am on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home in Marion. Juttie was born in Olar, South Carolina on September 15, 1922, the son of Estell (Still) and Lonnie H. Harrison, Sr. He married Jean High in Marion on October 7, 1962. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2017. Juttie was a proud United States Navy and Marine Veteran, having served during World War II. After his service, he continued his military training in the pharmaceutical department by working at the Edward Hines, Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital in Hines, Illinois. He later worked as an auto parts salesman. Prior to his retirement, Juttie worked as a locksmith, owning Harrison Lock and Key. He was an honorary member of the Teamsters Union. Mr. Harrison was a member of the Marion Third Baptist Church. Survivors include his son- Eric and Debbie Harrison of Thompsonville Daughter-Connie and Richard Hays of Marion Four Grandchildren- Amy and Steve Blandford of Marion Tracy and Ron Lang of Marion Jonathan and Jessica Hays of Pittsburg Erica and Daniel Whitehead of Thompsonville Six Great Grandchildren- Zachary Zeller of Marion Maggie, Carter, and Maddux Lang of Marion Landon and Bentley Hays of Pittsburg Brother- Augustus and Barbara Harrison of Louisville, KY Several Nieces and Nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two brothers- Bobby and Lonnie H. Harrison, Jr., and two sisters- Ruby M. Harrison and Eva G. Williams. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Andy Price officiating. Burial will follow at Cobden Cemetery. Military honors will be provided at graveside. Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Parkway Manor Nursing Home Activity Fund. Envelopes will be available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home; 800 N. Market Street; Marion, IL 62959.
