Jeffrey Martin Rich

Jeffrey Martin Rich, age 62, of Marion, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2022 at his home in Marion, Illinois.

Jeff was born in Los Angeles, California on March 21, 1960, the son of Erskine Rich and Loudene (White) Bennett. After moving back to Marion early on with his family, Jeff was a 1978 graduate of Marion High School. He then studied CAD Technology at Nashville State, and was a CAD designer at Transcraft and at Southern Illinois Power Co-Op.

Those who knew Jeff knew he had a quick wit, had a love for the Lord, was a lifelong Cardinals fan, had a huge passion for music, loved watching old westerns, and loved fishing. He was a talented guitar musician and loved creating music with his friends. But most of all, Jeff was a dedicated father who loved spending time with his son, Kaed. He will be missed by many.

He is survived by a son, Kaed (Ivory) Rich of West Frankfort, IL; mother, Loudene Bennett of Marion, IL; ex-wife, Heather Richerson of West Frankfort, IL; three siblings, Barbara Jones of Marion, IL, Roger (Loretta) Rich of Marion, IL, and Tom (Judy) Rich of Alexandria, KY, stepbrother, Brian Rich; uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and beloved dog, Buddy. He was preceded in death by his father, and his sister, Karen Khachikian.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with Dr. Bob Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow at Lake View Cemetery in Johnston City. A time of visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home.
