Jeanette L. Klope

Jeanette L. Klope, age 89, of Creal Springs, Illinois,  passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana.

Jeanette was born June 18, 1933 in Marion, Illinois, a daughter of Adolph Edwin and Louise Marie (Stahlut) Fluck.  She married James L. Klope on May 22, 1970 at Walnut Hill Freewill Baptist Church south of Crab Orchard, Illinois.  Jeanette grew up in Marion and was a 1951 graduate of Marion High School.  She worked at Sears and later at CIPS in Marion as a cashier.  

Family was very important to Jeanette and she was very active in Walnut Hill Freewill Baptist Church, serving as Church Secretary, and for Bible School.  She enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful cook.   

She is survived by two children, Lee Anne (Terry) Wood of Junction, IL and James Michael Klope of Mount Vernon, IL; three grandchildren, Brad Wood, Tim (Courtney) Wood, and Katie (Matt) Martin; five great-grandchildren, Austin Wood, James Wood, Jude Wood, Bailee Martin and Logan Martin; one brother, Richard (Pam) Fluck of Rochelle, IL; and several nieces and nephews.  

She is preceded in death by her spouse James L. Klope; her parents, Adolph Edwin and Louise Marie Fluck; and her Infant Daughter, Nancy Lynn Klope.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 28th, 2022 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Walnut Hill Freewill Baptist Church south of Crab Orchard, Illinois.  Funeral Service will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022, 12:00 PM at Walnut Hill Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
