Janet Marie Baize

Herrin- Janet Marie Baize, age 82, of Herrin, passed away at 9:00pm on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at her home in Herrin. Janet was born in DuQuoin on December 14, 1934, the daughter of Wayne and Georgia (Youngman) Carter.  She married William Gene Baize in DuQuoin on November 14, 1953. He preceded her in death on January 11, 2007. Mrs. Baize was a member of the Herrin Second Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Survivors include five sons- Paul Baize of Herrin Bob Baize of Herrin Jim Baize of Dittmer, MO Tom and Blanca Baize of San Antonio, TX Roger Baize and Jeff Richter of Madison, WI Sister-in-law- Gloria Lyon of Herrin Sister in law- Charlotte Carter of Pinckneyville Guardian Angel and Dear Friend- Donna Yancey of Herrin Eleven Grandchildren Eleven Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchild- Becky Rose, one great grandchild, two sisters, one brother, one sister in law and three brothers in law. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Matt Frizzell officiating. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy.  Visitation will be held from 10am-noon on Thursday at the funeral home. For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the Herrin Second Baptist Church.
