Hilda F. Smith, 96, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, formerly of Marion, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at 4:33 pm at the Christian Health Center surrounded by her family.
Hilda was born April 20, 1921 in White Ash the daughter of Peter P. and Luella (Wolverton) Wisek. She married Valice W. Smith on August 1, 1946 in Johnston City and together they shared over 57 years of marriage until his death on March 11, 2004.
She was a WWII veteran of the Army Women’s Corp, where she served in the Intelligence Dept. Hilda was a 50 year member of Marion First Baptist Church, where she was active in Sunday School classes for adults and children, after she relocated to Bowling Green she joined the Oak Forrest Baptist Church.

Son - Dwayne Smith and wife Ellen of Smiths Grove, Kentucky
Grandchild - Dwayne A. Smith of Virginia
Grandchild - Heather McClaren of Ziegler
Grandchild - April Smith
Eight great grandchildren - Abagail, Emily and Valerie Smith, Cordelia & Kaleb Smith, Charlie & Bryce Tibbs, and Kimber Butler
Great great grandchild - Jade Sparrow
Several nieces and nephews
Preceded by her Parents, Husband - Valice Smith, six brothers - Herman, Clarence, Lee, Orville, James and Paul Wisek, great grandchild - Angel Tibbs
Funeral services will be Monday, September 11, 2017 at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Ford officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be presented by members of the Marion V.F.W. Post #1301, American Legion Post #147 and National Guard Flag Detail Unit. Visitation will be Monday from 12 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
