Helen D. Linck

Helen Linck passed away on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 12:15 am at Parkway Manor in Marion.  Helen was born the daughter of William and Emma (Ruhe) Dettmer on December 10, 1926.  She would have been 90 years old on Saturday the 10th.  She married Joe D. Linck on December 25, 1946 at Zion UCC Marion.  They would have been married 70 years on Christmas Day.  Helen worked at the Bank of Marion for many years.  She and her husband traveled to many states where she continued working at different banks.  They ended up buying a home in Sun City, Arizona and resided there until the last few years when they decided to return to Marion to be with family.  Helen enjoyed knitting and playing bingo until her sight began to deteriorate.  She also looked forward to being with the “lunch bunch” and eating and visiting with her friends from the Bank of Marion.  Helen also enjoyed attending the ballgames at Rent One Park and was an avid Cardinal fan.  She was a very sweet and loving person and will be missed by her family and friends.  Helen is survived by her husband, J.D. and son Danny Bill (Patricia) Linck of Peoria, Arizona.  Two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Luetta) Broeking and Mrs. B.J. (Sharon) Simmons.  She has two granddaughters, Mr. & Mrs. Bill (Tina) Reid and Mr. & Mrs. Jason (Tammy) Hugi in Mason City, Iowa.  Also surviving are five great grandchildren. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mr. & Mrs. Bill (Ann) Linck, brother-in-law Rex Linck, sisters-in-law Mrs. Bill (Wilma) Miriani and Mrs. Leroy (Jeanette) Linck.  Numerous nieces and nephews.  Preceded by her Parents, two infant brothers, five brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.  Funeral services will be Monday, December 12, 2016 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. John Holst officiating.  Visitation will be Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 2 – 4 pm at the funeral home.  Burial will be  in Rose Hill Cemetery.  For those who prefer memorials may be made to Zion United Church of Christ.  Envelopes will available and accepted at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois  62959.
