Gail W. Wilkie

Gail W. Wilkie, age 74, of Herrin, Illinois,  passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Illinois.

Gail was born September 12, 1948 in Herrin, Illinois, a daughter of Wayne C. and Betty E. (Bird)  Hazel. She married Robert A. Wilkie II and he survives in Herrin, IL.  Gail enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and baking. She was an award winning artist and enjoyed riding horses. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her spouse Robert A. Wilkie II of Herrin, IL; three children, Ryan A. Bandera (fiance Rachel Poole) of Herrin, IL, Jarid W. Wilkie (fiance Karla Jones) of Herrin, IL, and Crystal D. (Steve) Junker of Terre Haute, IN; nine grandchildren, Layne G. Wilkie, Cory L. Bandera, Kristyn M. Breault, Matthew S. Junker, Nathaniel J. Junker, Julia L. Junker, Zachary M. Junker, Katelyn R. Bandera, and Caden L. Bandera; three great-grandchildren, Lillian, Roy, and Eleanor Barnett; and two brothers, Mark (Julie) Hazel of Tunnel Hill, IL and James (Lori) Linton of Johnston City, IL.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Wayne C. and Betty E. Hazel.

Private graveside services will be held.  Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with arrangements.
