Floyd "Pert" Jones

Floyd “Pert” Jones, 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 01, 2017 at 4:35 am at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Floyd was born June 16, 1932 in Williamson County the son of George and Pearl (Welburn) Jones. He was a member of Angelville Freewill Baptist Church in Poordo and retired from Maytag after 33 years. In his retirement he enjoyed fixing washers, dryers and lawnmowers. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include his;Six children; Lana Williams and husband Glenn of Warner Robbins, Georgia Vicki Norris of Johnston City Kimberly Livingston and husband Larry of Marion Christopher Jones and wife Rhonda of Johnston City William Jones and wife Mandy of Benton Greg Jones and wife Mimi of Herrin Twenty Grandchildren Twenty-seven Great Grandchildren Brother – Bill Jones of Pittsburg Sister - Shirley Mocaby and husband Don of Pittsburg Several nieces and nephews Proceded by his Parents, Brother – George “Gene” Jones, Two Sisters – Betty Mocaby and Violet Richey. Funeral services will be Monday, March 6, 2017 at 11 am at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home with Rev. John Howat officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant-Poordo Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5 – 8 pm at the funeral home.
