Donna D. Crain

Herrin- Donna D. Crain, 85, of Herrin, passed away at 3:15 PM, Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Herrin Hospital. Donna was born on December 11, 1932 in Williamson County to Lloyd and Velma (Farmer) Cox. She married Howard “Gene” Crain on June 23, 1956 in Carterville. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2003. Donna was a homemaker who cared for her family. She briefly worked at Norge in Herrin prior to marriage. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carterville. She was an outgoing and spontaneous woman who was always ready to go on an adventure. She liked to travel and attend concerts whenever she could. She loved life and took full advantage. Survivors include- Daughter in law- Paula Crain of Herrin Several grandchildren whom she loved dearly- Baker and Kayla Wiggs and Carson and Hanna Meyers Brother- Tom Cox of Belleville Cousin- Larry Giles of Naperville She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Daniel Crain, sister- Laveeta Thompson and niece- Glenda Taylor. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Rev. Don Colson will officiate. A time of gathering will begin at 2:30, Saturday at the Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to meet directly at the graveside. Funeral arrangements were made at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
