David C. Godfrey

Bush – David C. Godfrey, age 69, of Bush, passed away at 5:41pm on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at his home in Bush. David was born in Holland, Michigan on September 15, 1948, the son of Earnest C. and Marianna (Aardema) Godfrey. He married Linda Carter in Holland, Michigan on December 3, 1977. She survives in Bush. Mr. Godfrey attended the Crossroads Apostolic Church of Bush, where he served as a past caretaker. He was a proud United States Army Veteran, serving during Vietnam, and having been stationed in Washington, DC. Prior to his retirement, David was self-employed at Aston Packaging. Survivors include his loving wife- Rev. Linda Godfrey of Bush Daughter- Sandy Wyskochil of Bush Son-Christopher Godfrey of Edwards, CO Son- Ryan Godfrey of Atlanta, GA Three Grandchildren- John Wyskochil of Bush C.J. Godfrey of Mokena, IL Audrey Raymond-Kent of Dallas, TX Brother- Loren and Fran Godfrey of Grand Rapids, MI Sister- Christina and Paul Rosendahl of Holland, MI Sister-in-law- Renee Carter of Crestwood, IL Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents. Private family services to celebrate the life of David Godfrey will be held. Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin is assisting the family with final arrangements.
