Marion- Danny Ray Long, age 77, of Marion, passed away at 10:00am on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at his home in Marion.
Danny was born in Herrin on December 16, 1940, and raised the son of Pauline (Belt) and John Payne, Sr. He married Elnora “Ellie” Black in Marion on June 14, 1975. She survives in Marion. Prior to his retirement, Danny worked as a truck driver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters- Sandra Boots and Loretta Stafford, and niece- Heather Boots.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Terry Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Herrin City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11-1pm on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home in Herrin.
