  Clara June Baker, 72, of Marion, passed away on Monday, January 02, 2017 at 9:08 am at Parkway Manor in Marion surrounded by her family.    June was born January 9, 1944 in Herrin the daughter of Sperlin and Macil (Cheatham).  She married Frankie Baker on June 13, 1963 in Herrin and together they shared over 53 years of marriage.    Anyone who ever met June always thought she was an angel.  She complimented and found the good in everyone.  She was never one who had anything bad to say about anyone.  She never lost faith in God no matter the circumstances life gave her.  During Karen’s brain tumor and ultimate death, she clung even harder to God.  Her faith never failed her.  While things didn’t always go the way she wanted, she knew God had a plan and never lost trust in Him.    Survivors include her:   Husband – Frankie Baker of Marion   Daughter – Lisa Vick and husband Richard of Marion   Three grandchildren;     Michael Vick and wife Joy of Tulsa, Oklahoma     Steven Vicker and wife Sarah of Marion     Kristina Vick of Marion   Great Grandchild – Jaxon Vick of Marion   Brother – Rick Robertson and wife Rhonda of Herrin   Sister – Ann Tanner and husband Lyman of Marion   Sister – Margie Pedigo and husband Rick of Herrin   Several nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews    Preceded by her Parents, Daughter – Karen Lynn Baker, three sisters – Mary Wortham, Betty Smith and Kay Robertson.    Funeral services will be Friday, January 6, 2017 at 1 pm at Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Lee officiating.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 – 8 pm at Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church.  Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion assisted the family with arrangements.    For those who prefer memorials may be made to the Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund.  Envelopes will be available at the church or by mail to Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, 800 North Market Street, Marion, Illinois  62959.
